Building a climate education platform for Denmark's students

Building a climate education platform for Denmark's students

Educating the next generation on how to tackle the climate crisis is essential. Energy Modelling Lab developed a new educational platform, KAOS, containing exercises within mathematics, social science, geography and physics.

The platform focuses on climate change and energy system modelling, giving students challenging tasks on energy systems and planning, carbon budgets, agriculture scenarios and more.

Bringing energy system modelling into the classroom

Developed together with Envice for the Ministry of Children and Education, the KAOS platform, available at kaos.world, brings climate change and energy system modelling into secondary education across Denmark.

Building a climate education platform for Denmark's students

The KAOS platform offers students exercises in mathematics, social science, geography and physics, focused on climate change and energy system modelling, covering energy systems and planning, carbon budgets and agriculture scenarios.

The platform was developed and refined in close collaboration with Envice and the Ministry of Children and Education, to fit into the Danish curriculum.

The KAOS platform builds capacity in the next generation, equipping students with practical skills in climate change and energy systems thinking.
